How the Cap n Trade Bill will affect your Electric Bill and What You can Do about It
As most of you know, there is an 800 pound gorilla looming over congress known as the Cap n Trade Bill which could affect us as much or even more than Obama's Healthcare reform proposal. If the Cap n Trade bill passes we all can expect to see an increase in our energy bill, but no one knows exactly how much. After doing some research online I've noticed that several resources are estimating that the average family household can expect their electric bill to increase by $300 - $1600 yearly. Now think about that for a moment. Could you imagine having to pay an extra $50, $100, or more per month for your electric power? Whether you are in favor or against Cap n Trade is YOUR business. However, I'm sure no matter what side of the fence you are on, you don't want to see the cost of electricity skyrocket. Keep in mind, even if Cap and Trade doesn't pass we can most certainly expect our electric bills to continue to increase over time at an accelerated pace.
